wix Posted March 1, 2005 at 03:50 AM Report Posted March 1, 2005 at 03:50 AM I want to compile a list of the Chinese characters for Thai place names. I have the following mostly found using Google.com (searching for traditional characters). I am also looking for the characters for Songkhla and Had Yai, plus any others you might like to add. Also I realise there might be other ways of writing them, so if you want to correct what I pasted below you are welcome. Bangkok 曼谷 Surat Thani 素叻他尼 Koh Samui 蘇梅島 Phuket 普吉島 Pattaya 芭提雅 Chiang Mai 清邁 Chaing Rai 清萊 Quote

Chunn Posted March 9, 2005 at 01:59 AM Report Posted March 9, 2005 at 01:59 AM There is a dictionary called "泰漢詞典" joint published by 泰國南美有限公司 and 香港商務印書館 contains almost all Thai province name in Chinese (Traditional character) in its appendix. I don't know if it is available in your city. The province names that you paste and also those two provinces posted by anonymoose are the same as in the dictionary. I don't have much time at the moment to post you more other provinces, but if you can specify which province you wanna know, I will back to check and reply. 聯合出版 Quote
