I want to up my vocabulary specifically in the financial sector. What are the top 3-5 sources for financial news in China. I am thinking Financial Times, The Economist, Reuters and Bloomberg equivalent. Any recommendations?

Scoobyqueen, you are sort of my hero/mind reader! I had the same 2013 goal (not posted however) for the Financial Sector. Good Question/Thread---Virtual High Five

On a somewhat related note, but covering a NARROWER scope, I (reluctantly) add world journal...only because I personally need to look at the Chinese terminology for American taxes/laws, financial products, etc...and well for some of us tax season is unfortunately upon us, so here. http://www.worldjour...com/2013taxinfo

八字还没一撇!

Thanks for the suggestion.

I am thinking of changing jobs and I have seen one for investors relations requiring Mandarin. If I get an interview this would be my practice ground. I am not though into that dry stuff. I just want to see how far I get and what my market value is.

You've probably also considered Reuters' Chinese website http://cn.reuters.com/.

Reuters has a financial glossary in English and Chinese which I think is useful. The web address should be http://glossary.reuters.com.cn/ but that's not working for me at the moment: another way in is via http://glossary.reut...ail/word资产.html and then go half way down the page to the search box and A B C list of 词汇索引 links.

Let us know how you get on: I write about this stuff (in English) for my day job, would love to end up doing something Chinese-language with it at some stage.

财新/财经 and their related magazines/news items are probably the best. You can also sort by most popular articles each day, most commented, etc, and in general I find the writing similar in formality as the Economist (i.e. pretty approachable, not too stuffy - granted you like the topic).
