Tulee Posted April 7, 2013 at 08:41 PM Report Posted April 7, 2013 at 08:41 PM As the topic says, can anyone help me with the difference in meaning between these two? 摔了下去 VS 摔下去了 I do not know how the position of "le" affects the meaning. Many thanks, Quote
skylee Posted April 8, 2013 at 12:34 AM Report Posted April 8, 2013 at 12:34 AM I don't think there is a difference. The meaning is the same. Quote
andysun731 Posted April 8, 2013 at 12:57 AM Report Posted April 8, 2013 at 12:57 AM 摔了下去 may emphasize the movement. 摔下去了 is a result. Both mean the same thing. Quote
New Members Chrisz Posted April 8, 2013 at 06:02 AM New Members Report Posted April 8, 2013 at 06:02 AM When you put the "了" behind " 摔", you emphasize the action "摔". When you put the "了" behind the whole sentence, you emphasize the result of the whole movement摔下去了. This is an article I put online about "le" http://www.hanban.com/grammar/expressing-comparison/Dynamic-Auxiliary-%E4%BA%86.html Hope this helps. Quote
