Website down at times?

Lately this past two weeks, when I type in the forum's address, and an error sometimes happens and says that Google Chrome cannot connect. It isn't something that says that I should check my network connection, just a special Chrome notice. I don't do anything other times and it connects without any problem, so it feels random. Is anyone else having this problem?

Is your current location accurate? and if so are you connecting through a VPN, or directly over your Internet connection? If the latter, I'd say it's the ISP or carrier playing funny buggers with the GFW.

Yes I am in Chengdu and I am not using a VPN. So I guess there is nothing I can do about it besides try to bypass the GFW.

Stuff like this is very hard to diagnose. FWIW, I've recently made some changes which seem to have reduced load on the server somewhat - I used to get occasional errors too, but haven't more recently.

I can report that chinese-forums.com was down for me yesterday for a few hours. It wouldn't let me load it at all. And a few days before that I was getting lack of memory messages.

There's certainly no sudden slump in the stats that would indicate the site has been down for hours. The memory errors should be solved. For now...

Just had a bit of downtime (not sure how much, might have been a few hours) for reasons I am currently investigating. Nothing related though I think.
