Steingletscher Posted April 14, 2013 at 12:09 AM Report Posted April 14, 2013 at 12:09 AM Lately this past two weeks, when I type in the forum's address, and an error sometimes happens and says that Google Chrome cannot connect. It isn't something that says that I should check my network connection, just a special Chrome notice. I don't do anything other times and it connects without any problem, so it feels random. Is anyone else having this problem? Quote
imron Posted April 14, 2013 at 12:13 AM Report Posted April 14, 2013 at 12:13 AM Location:成都 Is your current location accurate? and if so are you connecting through a VPN, or directly over your Internet connection? If the latter, I'd say it's the ISP or carrier playing funny buggers with the GFW. Quote
Steingletscher Posted April 14, 2013 at 10:22 AM Author Report Posted April 14, 2013 at 10:22 AM Yes I am in Chengdu and I am not using a VPN. So I guess there is nothing I can do about it besides try to bypass the GFW. Quote
roddy Posted April 23, 2013 at 03:04 PM Report Posted April 23, 2013 at 03:04 PM Stuff like this is very hard to diagnose. FWIW, I've recently made some changes which seem to have reduced load on the server somewhat - I used to get occasional errors too, but haven't more recently. Quote
tooironic Posted April 23, 2013 at 10:43 PM Report Posted April 23, 2013 at 10:43 PM I can report that chinese-forums.com was down for me yesterday for a few hours. It wouldn't let me load it at all. And a few days before that I was getting lack of memory messages. Quote
roddy Posted April 23, 2013 at 11:16 PM Report Posted April 23, 2013 at 11:16 PM There's certainly no sudden slump in the stats that would indicate the site has been down for hours. The memory errors should be solved. For now... Quote
roddy Posted April 30, 2013 at 10:03 AM Report Posted April 30, 2013 at 10:03 AM Just had a bit of downtime (not sure how much, might have been a few hours) for reasons I am currently investigating. Nothing related though I think. Quote
