Pengyou Posted April 26, 2013 at 09:19 AM Report Share Posted April 26, 2013 at 09:19 AM I use a textbook in my 3rd grade class from Longman publishers. There is a vcd that comes with the text but it is very annoying to use. Every time I start it up I have to put up with their intro banner, as well as their page of credits...bores the kids, gives them time to be distracted and uses up about a minute of time. The computer is not terribly new and not very stable, so if it freezes I have to go through the process again. I would like to find some way to copy the files from the cd and put them on flash drive, and eliminate the banner and credits. I have tried copying. It works with some files but some it does not. They are avi files. Any suggestions?
drencrom Posted April 26, 2013 at 09:34 AM Report Share Posted April 26, 2013 at 09:34 AM Well, this is more of a tech support issue than a Chinese issue. DVD rippers support VCDs, so just use that kind of software. Or you can just copy the .DAT files to your computer and rename them to .MPG and they should play. Pengyou Posted April 26, 2013 at 11:18 AM Author Report Share Posted April 26, 2013 at 11:18 AM Thanks! Yes, it is more tech support but I am hoping that someone on this forum, who also lives in China has tackled this problem before Copy works for some files but not for all. drencrom Posted April 27, 2013 at 07:08 PM Report Share Posted April 27, 2013 at 07:08 PM Get one of the nerdy students to use a DVD ripper to grab the video from the VCD.
