How do i type this in chinese?

If you don't know Chinese why do you want it in Chinese? If you want people to be to understand your message why not write it in a language people around you will understand.

Using Chinese characters does not impart any kind of magic or special meaning to the words.

Pick a nice font in your own language and have it done well by a good tattoo artist. Remember tattoo artists do not usually know Chinese and they get their info from some very dubious places, not to be relied on.

Before you ink - think and then think again and again

You may be very disappointed with the results if you just breeze on in to a tat shop and ask for that, heaven only knows what you will get.

Don't do it, or at least don't do it tomorrow, give your self more time. please:)

Let's review here.

You want to get a tattoo in a language you don't know, for whatever reason. I don't really understand that, but different strokes. So you decide you're going to go onto a website and ask some total strangers (some of whom are of very ill repute) for a translation of some saccharine English phrase that, even if translated properly, likely won't carry the same full meaning, because cultures differ. Then tomorrow you're going to head off without checking to be sure that the phrase you got is actually correct, to (presumably) whatever place you've gotten your tattoos at before, to get someone who I'd be willing to bet doesn't speak Chinese or know the first thing about the aesthetics of Chinese calligraphy, but will be happy to take your money and pretend he knows what he's doing, to ink this onto your body. And it will be there until you die. And even afterwards.

I was tempted to type "我是老外," which means "I am a foreigner." I would have found it hysterical if you came back a while down the road, furious that your tattoo doesn't say what you wanted it to. And that's exactly the danger here, because jerks like me like to mess with people.

I'm not against people getting tattoos in whatever language they want. But realize that someone will be able to read it. In this case, it's about a fifth of the world's population. And they will laugh at you if you get it wrong. So put some more thought and time into it before you get it done.

Way to go OneEye.

We should get a stock answer (i believe it's called a "sticky post") comprising of the things you said and what I said (and anything else people would like to add)and some examples of what can go wrong with tattoos in Chinese.

Then all these requests can be directed there and if they still want to go ahead they can they state in their post that they have read and understood these recommendations when it comes to tattoos.

The reason I say this is because this seems to be the popular response to this kind of request.

And it would save typing it every time.

I hope this is taken in the spirit it is meant:- wanting to be helpful, and trying to prevent unhappy people end up with permanent tattoos they regret.

If you want to get a tattoo in a language that you and the people around you don't understand, why not get something like

"blue tornado furze"

or

"may flick with gem"

Then at least the tattoo guy will be working with letters that he's familiar with.

The OP's question/idea is not a smart one, but I don't see the need to trick him/her as in #6.

I would hate to see someone with a tattoo that says 呆子 based on the advice of this website again. (But that guy wanted to have "idiot" tattooed in the first place.)

Yah, but between 'tomorrow' and 'I don't know Chinese', well I wouldn't say the OP was asking for it, but s/he made it rather tempting. IIRC 呆子 guy at least did the research before making the appointment (and he got exactly what he asked for).
