Ruben von Zwack Posted May 12, 2013 at 08:30 PM Report Share Posted May 12, 2013 at 08:30 PM 大家好! I was searching the forum for opinions on Popup Chinese, and all discussions seem to be from last year (2012) or even older (2009). So maybe it's time for an update? So as far as I can see, it seems that you can't download anything at all for free anymore. The membership is still free, but you can listen to the podcast on the website only, and clicking on the PDF transcript symbol will direct you to the subscriptions page. On the bright side, the price for the subscription seems moderate - under 100 USD per year. The "old" price is crossed out. I really don't have much clue and came to Popup Chinese by searching this forum. So maybe things have changed since last year and there are even better podcast resources and I'm just not aware of them. (What's good is highly subjective of course. What I'm looking for is to improve my listening and get a feeling for the spoken language.)
Baron Posted May 31, 2013 at 07:48 PM Report Share Posted May 31, 2013 at 07:48 PM They seem to still be available in iTunes. I'm not sure about the recent changes, I haven't been on site since my subscription ran out last month. If you haven't subscribed before, it's worth knowing that in the last couple of years they offer you a half price sub when yours runs out. They also let me have a Popup Cantonese sub without paying for it when I got my main sub. Not bad. Maybe I should renew my sub...
