Can someone translate my picture from Chinese to English?

I think it has not been written too well but this is my best guess:

万 = wan meaning ten thousand

六 = liu meaning six

式 = shi meaning style,type or pattern

so it could mean 10,006 pattern

But i could be entirely wrong because I may have incorrectly deciphered what the characters are supposed to be.

To me it looks like someone wrote 五六式 incorrectly, which at least makes more sense than "10,006 pattern".

At first I thought maybe it was a May 6th Ceremony of some sort, but a lazy baidu gets me to the "Type 56" SKS semi-auto rifle widely exported to China.
