Hello All,

I have seen that there is a website that has a list of accepted students from the EU. I was wondering if they had a similar website for people from USA or from North America...

Also, I sent an email to the universities that I applied to. One university, Hainan University, responded and said that I was accepted to their school and that they have sent the JW201 form and my admission letter to the CSC office... Does this mean I will get the scholarship? The Hainan University website doesn't list the scholarship awardees like some other schools.

PS congrats to all the other students who have heard back

@shuoshuo,

Do you know how embassy applicants are notified? I applied through the US embassy and need to figure out if I got accepted or not.

How will applicants be notified? By the CSC through email? By the embassy through phone / email?

Thanks

Hi, I was wondering if there is a topic/sub-topic for the recipients of the scholarship and their life after receiving it? For discussions about travel arrangements, accommodation, insurance and etc etc. I cannot seem to find anything like that but I might be using the wrong search words, so I would appreciate anyone's input on this. Thanks!

Congrats to everyone in this forum who got already their scholarship. For those still waiting have some patience, all of us have been trough tough times to keep waiting and waiting but at the end it will be paid off with a good news from either university or from embassy. Goodluck and congrats to shuoshuo, bagpipes1000 and Firashk, i remember you've been following this forum quite sometime :) like me.

@bagpipes, getting contact with 2013 scholars is very good idea. I agree that facebook cannot be easily access. WeChat maybe will do but like me i'm not so updated about it. How about QQ account? just suggesting but it would be a good way to communicate fellow 2013 scholars to have exchange of views such as arrangments on the day of arrival at our specified universities.

@anna88

Hi girl! don't worry as i have understand from other university for example the university have 60 quota to admit students, they usually post first 30 applicants as the scholarship winners which are the "first group" during first round evaluation, then they will post again for another 30 winners for the "2nd group" after 2nd round evaluation. In my experience at the university where i was admitted I was one of the listed first group, i counted 26 students receive the admission emails, then after the final list we are about 65 total students who got the scholarship. Don't lose hope maybe your in the 2nd round.

@haytham - I haven't received my documents, but I'm pretty sure they're now in the hands of my Chinese embassy. In my country, it isn't the Chinese embassy that announces it. They hand it over to our Ministry of Education who then liases with the students. So the applicants in my country will probably know they've been awarded the scholarship some time this coming week.

My case is a bit of a "special case" because I've asked for a language year. This is not offered by our Ministry of Education. So I applied directly to the Chinese embassy. So I was informed unofficially, late Friday.

@slasherchinese - Most likely by phone. I live in the middle of nowhere so if my embassy has already received the documents, I'm pretty sure most embassies will receive the documents this week or next week. Keep your phone lines open! :D

@daeiram89 - Thanks! I will be declining the CSC scholarship for this year (I will go with the Confucius scholarship), but I will be applying again next year so I'll be back on this thread in no time, haha! :D Although I'm not leaving yet so I will continue to follow this thread for morale support to those who have not received their results yet.

I also wish everyone the best of luck, and I would like to thank everyone here for the information that they've shared. Next year I might apply directly to the universities so I'll be needing a lot of luck then.
