heifeng Posted June 1, 2013 at 05:08 AM Report Posted June 1, 2013 at 05:08 AM I use to listen to VOA (radio streams), but it gets a bit old after a while....you will eventually see a pattern (which is not necessarily unique to just VOA broadcasts) & I'll leave it at that. The good news is if you listen to it I dunno, 8 hrs straight, it repeats itself often so you can make sure you didn't 'miss' anything on the earlier loop. I recommend for students at all levels as well as native speakers (& it will surely be OVERLOOKED due to the impending drama on this thread) to watch ICN station's news. The news broadcasters must speak at least 25% slower than mainland Chinese news (& don't use subtitles as a crutch..it catches up to you!). Here, for NEWS, visit http://www.iavcusa.c...8432944502.html (夏小雅 & the other broadcaster w/ long hair are my favoriiiiiiites!) For other programming, the live streaming is here: http://www.iavcusa.com/t/live.html or tune in on TV~ If this thread gets too heated I'm just gonna start my own thread b/c I've been wanting to tell forum members about this news & just thought of it now.....ok now carry on... 1 Quote
heifeng Posted June 1, 2013 at 05:28 AM Report Posted June 1, 2013 at 05:28 AM Oh, well I guess I should provide some subtitled news too. Here is an interesting channel 新唐人 in which you will NEVER find certain, um, propaganda...you'll see. 大陆新闻解读(Chinese Subtitles) & 禁闻 (English Subtitles) Actually I need to find the political parodies on this station to post. It is like watching Chinese Saturday Night Live...but not funny in the same way. In fact it probably isn't exactly suppose to be funny...to be continued if I can find it. In the meantime other program streaming (such as 漫谈党文化 which has the entire program written out below the program, etc) : http://www.ntdtv.com....html/视频节目.html Quote

OneEye Posted June 1, 2013 at 09:32 AM Report Posted June 1, 2013 at 09:32 AM That was sly Miko, going back and editing your posts like that. Kind of makes it so that the rest of the thread makes no sense though. Quote
liuzhou Posted June 1, 2013 at 09:33 AM Report Posted June 1, 2013 at 09:33 AM Another denounced it as Yankee imperialism propaganda I didn't denounce anything. @Miko Editing your posts like that make makes you look rather dishonest and is very bad internet manners. You argued against what you imagine I think rather than what I actually said. I realise that it easier to invent someone's opinions and argue against those than it is to argue with what they actually say. But not very useful or clever. I offered no opinions. Quote
imron Posted June 1, 2013 at 11:10 AM Report Posted June 1, 2013 at 11:10 AM Tidied up the thread a bit. Going forward, let's try to keep this thread about Chinese news with subtitles. Quote
heifeng Posted August 21, 2013 at 01:58 AM Report Posted August 21, 2013 at 01:58 AM As a follow up to my post #7, I finally found the 小品 That I mentioned. It can basically be found on youtube if you search 新唐人时事小品 or on the station website too I suppose。 The content might ruffle some feathers (as it is probably suppose to...), but from a listening comprehension perspective (& also test your knowledge of some current events) , some may want to check it out & it has subtitles as well. Here are a few examples: (note, just jump past those annoying youtube commercials!) Quote
