daofeishi Posted June 25, 2013 at 10:23 PM Report Posted June 25, 2013 at 10:23 PM What is all this about "chicken arms"? It seems I've missed out on something. They only have wings round here. Where I've been the last few years, buffalos apparently do too. So, how does one with no Chinese skills order in a restaurant in China? One method I know some people have used is to get Pleco with optical character recognition for their smartphone. That way it will be possible to decipher at least parts of the menu if you don't know Chinese. Of course, since the Chinese can get very creative when it comes to naming dishes, you might not always get what you thought you would. (Sometimes for the better. 'Ants climbing a tree' doesn't really contain ants, for example.) Quote
