Trouble finding a Kanji

Hey guys I've been trying to read a mandarin comic book, and I use a Kanji recognition site, where I draw the kanji, and it gives me the one I am looking for, which, after having a sentence, proceed to translate on a translator. Now the thing is, I've come across a Kanji that is not beeing recognized and I've tried to look it up some where else, but I'm not having any luck so if anyone could give me a hand, I'd appreciate.

Here's part of the sentece where it connects 隼殿下和穆金将 在这, it goes on that space.

Once again, thank you for your attention.

I believe it is jun 军 It means armed forces, army, troops.

I used Pleco to find it, available for mobile devices, and there was no problem, if you do this a lot perhaps you should think of getting it (link on this forum).

Also Chinese mandarin characters are called Hanzi not kanji which is used for Japanese characters, maybe you should be using a hanzi recognition site.

Hope this helps:)

Yes, I started with learning some Japanese stuff, but then mandarin caught my attention(it's a lot harder though) so I'm pretty much new to this universe, so I was convinced Kanji was the same name both for Japanese and Chinese.

Anyway, thank you a lot, it did indeed help me, and thanks for all the info you provided as well ^-^

P.S: One question, is it only available for mobile devices? Because my phone is way too crappy for apps.

That character is different in simplified and traditional forms, which may explain why you couldn't find it on a 'kanji' site. Try drawing it into nciku.com.

If it's 将军, that's a two-character word meaning (army) general.

Pleco is only available for mobile devices, alas :(. It needs android 2.3 or iphone i think.

There are very good alternatives for PC or Mac. There is a lot of posts about that sort of thing on this forum.

Glad to be help.

It is nice when the OP responds and you know your reply is read. Sometimes it feels like you go to the trouble of helping but you never hear back from the OP so you wonder if it ever got read.

Yeah, I like to thank and let you know if it worked or not, feedback is important for stuff to work.

And don't worry about the Pleco, the site roddy posted is very good, and I'm having an easier way handling this, though the google translator isn't very accurate I still manage to get the idea.

I'll be sure to stick around this forum and check the other posts in order to get some more mandarin knowledge.
