bonniestory Posted July 16, 2013 at 05:49 PM Report Share Posted July 16, 2013 at 05:49 PM We moved into an older home a few years ago and over time I have found dug up various objects that appear to have Chinese markings on them..(glass, china, tea sets etc.) I am wondering if its possible to post pictures to see if anyone can tell me anything about them? (Or if I am even correct) One of the reasons it interests me is that the museum curator claims our property is where Chinese bunkhouses were located for work on the railway (early 1900s)...If I should be posting this elsewhere please let me know. Thank you . Bonnie

bonniestory Posted July 17, 2013 at 06:41 PM Author Report Share Posted July 17, 2013 at 06:41 PM Hi, thank you for getting back to me.. I hope its okay that I post photos as I find them in my computer and with any luck the will tie into each other at some point.. I should also mention that I am in an area where, during WW1, one of the concentration camps was located about an hour from my home, and during WW2 all Japanese families were evacuated within a hundred miles, and their properties were sold. So, maybe Im in the wrong forum, but, after four years of trying to figure it out on my own I thought I would start here. The first photo that Im attaching is the markings on the house. They are directly in line with the fishpond that has a pentagon shape in the centre, and they are the only shingles with markings of any sort on them. bonniestory Posted July 17, 2013 at 07:48 PM Author Report Share Posted July 17, 2013 at 07:48 PM ...Some other images, the first one is of a fairly large concrete urn, vase ...? You can't see the base because of all the rocks Ive been picking up, but its sitting, slightly offset on a square base. To the left is a roof structure that had/has a brick side. (We put our barbeque in there, but I dont know what it was actually for). On the back embedded in the brick, is an ornament, a lotus flower I think. I will send all of these images together. - I also added in the front door...
triunfo Posted July 18, 2013 at 01:26 AM Report Share Posted July 18, 2013 at 01:26 AM Doesn't look like anything in Chinese to me. Probably just some random scratch marks that some kid/person did to pass time (like furniture in schools).
