Hi all,

I'm looking for some help with the translation of the word "dignity" as used in the phrase "to treat someone with dignity." (in the sense that all people have worth and deserve to be treated with respect)

I understand that dignity and respect have many different chinese translations, but I'm hoping that someone can give me insight into which one(s) fit best. I'm looking more for a connotation of "treat others the way you want to be treated" rather than "reverence."

尊严?

尊严 is what is used in the Chinese version of Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights ("All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights" 人人生而自由,在尊严和权利上一律平等。)
