tooironic Posted July 19, 2013 at 03:51 AM Report Share Posted July 19, 2013 at 03:51 AM Is there an English word for 跳槽? I often hear Chinese people use the word "job-hopping" in English, but I can't recall ever hearing a native speaker use the word... What do you think? fanglu Posted July 19, 2013 at 04:15 AM Report Share Posted July 19, 2013 at 04:15 AM I think job hopping (no hyphen) is fine. Google shows it's in pretty common use.
li3wei1 Posted July 19, 2013 at 05:52 AM Report Share Posted July 19, 2013 at 05:52 AM It used to be common, back when it was possible.
LearneЯ Posted July 19, 2013 at 11:11 PM Report Share Posted July 19, 2013 at 11:11 PM Found another meaning marked as slang in Wenlin (job hopping was colloquial): marry somebody else after a divorce.
tooironic Posted July 21, 2013 at 10:38 PM Author Report Share Posted July 21, 2013 at 10:38 PM According to my C-C dictionary, it has yet another meaning as well: 牲口从原来所在的槽头跑到别的槽头争食。 :o
