aroberts42 Posted August 23, 2013 at 08:36 AM Report Posted August 23, 2013 at 08:36 AM My husband's company is trying to get him a work visa and just get me a non-working spouse visa. We were told today that our American marriage certificate is not good enough and that we need an marriage certificate authentication from the Chinese embassy in America. But we, and our marriage certificate, are here! Can we get our marriage certificate authenticated here, perhaps at an American embassy in Guangzhou? Quote

Lu Posted September 26, 2013 at 09:58 PM Report Posted September 26, 2013 at 09:58 PM If all else fails, you can get married here a second time.If I'm not mistaken, foreigners getting married in China need to proof that they are not already married, so getting remarried would in all likelyhood be impossible (have been impossible). I suppose it's all resolved by now, but would it be possible in a case like this one to simply mail the marriage certificate to a consulate and have them mail it back? Quote
