Tyr Posted March 15, 2005 at 10:54 PM Report Posted March 15, 2005 at 10:54 PM Hey all, I'm looking for some opinions on the best resource for learning to read and write pinyin and simplified chinese characters. I'm currently using the pimsleur series to learn to speak Mandarin and would like to learn to read and write at the same time. I've been doing some research and here is what I have so far. Easy Chinese Tutor I (Mandarin) (CD-ROM) http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0966163613/ref=ord_cart_shr/104-7404191-4456733?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance Integrated Chinese: 1/1 Textbook, 1/1 Workbook Cds [uNABRIDGED] http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0887274048/qid=1110926501/sr=8-7/ref=pd_csp_7/104-7404191-4456733?v=glance&s=books&n=507846 Integrated Chinese, Level 1, Part 1: Workbook (Simplified Character Edition) http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0887272657/qid=1110926501/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1/104-7404191-4456733?v=glance&s=books&n=507846 I'm looking for a good book that teaches simplified characters, stroke order and pinyin at the same time. My concern is that the Integrated Chinese series isn't suited for self study. If anyone has experience with the integrated chinese or can recommend something better please do. Thanks in advance.
