About verifying english-chinese translation

Looks ok to me. It does not look like machine- or software-generated. Whether or not it is good is hard to say (that also depends on the source materials).

Is IELTS popular?

I agree with Skylee that the translation is okay, but you'd better hire a professional to proofread the whole text if it is important as there's still quite a bit of room for improvement.

Take the last two lines for example

我的最爱里没有物件

扫动删除我的最爱里的物件

They are weird to me, though I can understand them perfectly. Also, if I were to say the same things, I'd go with:

我的收藏夹是空的

删除收藏夹中的书签

Of course, without the originals, I can't guarantee that my paraphrased sentences are accurate. They are just my best guesses.

I suppose what terms to use (e.g. 收藏夾 vs 我的最愛) will also depend on who the target users are. For me, 我的最愛/my favourites is perfectly fine. It is the term used on the IE browser I am using. On my Chrome and Firefox, the same function is called 書籤/bookmarks.

Yes. I agree. Given the fact that the OP had the text translated into Simplified Chinese, I suppose the intended readers of the translation are Chinese on the Mainland. If this is the case, 收藏夾 will be his better choice.

There are generally 2 ways to verify translations.

1. Get a "back translation". This is where you give a sample of your translation to someone else and get them to translate it back into English. It will be remarkable if it is word for word the same as your original, but there shouldn't be any huge differences.

2. Get an expert to look at the translation (sort of what you've done here).
