sorriso23 Posted March 16, 2005 at 05:35 PM Report Posted March 16, 2005 at 05:35 PM HI! I'm a German student studying languages (english, italian, chinese) and economics. This summer I would like to do an internship in a German firm or chinese firm trading with Europe. Does anyone know where to look best for internship offers? The German Chamber of Commerce has only a very short list of intership offers. Bye sorriso Quote
gougou Posted March 17, 2005 at 02:33 PM Report Posted March 17, 2005 at 02:33 PM Your best bet would be cold-calling, except the chamber of commerce there so far isn't really a forum for Germans looking for an internship in China (hey Roddy, here's an idea for your next China-related website! ) A friend of mine (also German) did cold-emailing last year, with rather meek rates of reply. However, he was just starting to learn Mandarin, if your level is higher, it should be somewhat easier. But don't expect to be taking candy from a baby, there's a lot of Germans interested in these internships. Quote
carrefour_fr Posted March 31, 2005 at 02:01 PM Report Posted March 31, 2005 at 02:01 PM I think, maybe you have to find some agencies to help you finding internship opportunities. You know, in china, recruiting interns is not so popular as in Europe, employers don't like interns because it cost them a lot for training, especially for some small companies. But anyway, you can try~ I think you must have some previous work experience in Germany, or elsewhere, that will be an advantage comparing to us, especially for German-based companies. You are very welcomed for them! Good luck! Quote
马杰 Posted April 6, 2005 at 08:24 PM Report Posted April 6, 2005 at 08:24 PM You might try Hong Kong based companies that have offices on the mainland also. NGOs would be another avenue but their roles in China are limited and monitored. You could try to contact the Chinese embassy, some larger mainland companies occasionally take on foreigners, you'd learn alot more Quote
JackP Posted April 7, 2005 at 08:53 AM Report Posted April 7, 2005 at 08:53 AM Have you tried through the DAAD (I believe it´s this one, but there´s another organisation in Germany with a similar name which might be it). I believe they have scholarships for a year or so to learn the language and I believe they also help you getting a internship/parttime job while you´re there... Quote
