pprendeville Posted August 31, 2013 at 04:29 PM Report Posted August 31, 2013 at 04:29 PM I need to get a sim card for my mobile for Beijing. My wife is in Hebei so she will be the only person I call outside Beijing realistically on a daily basis. I'm here for 10 months. I've tried going on the China Mobile website but my Chinese isn't good enough to understand the various deals. The English version just brings me to the corporate section. I'm looking to get internet on the phone on the go (not just WiFi and be able to receive calls even if I run out of credit. Are bill phones better or is it better to top up? Can anyone recommend anything or a way I can find out more on my own. Don't want to pester the Mrs as she has the kids and her family to worry about plus is out of touch with the deals available. brucehuang Posted September 2, 2013 at 07:04 PM Report Posted September 2, 2013 at 07:04 PM If you call your wife on a daily bases, try using wechat app on your smartphone and her (assuming you both have smartphone and wifi). combine that with a pay as you go sim card, you should be fine. 1 Quote

pprendeville Posted October 1, 2013 at 05:43 AM Author Report Posted October 1, 2013 at 05:43 AM Went with China Unicom and got a package with 2.5GB of internet per month which is loads as I do t really use it for video content, just when my WiFi is acting up I can tether with my iPhone. Costs 200 per month and I get about 38RMB free voice/text credit each month. Quote
