The Guardian has an article full of resources meant to be of interest to teachers of Chinese, which I thought might be worth posting here. Some may also be useful for parents attempting to raise Mandarin-speaking children and you can get hold of some free chapters and the like, although it looks like registration may be necessary.

I haven't looked at them in any detail, but thechinesestaffroom.com looks like it might be a very useful site.
