Sam Fairhall 92 Posted September 5, 2013 at 07:30 PM Report Posted September 5, 2013 at 07:30 PM I've recently started using Skritter and would like to get an opinion of someone who has been using it for sometime. I love the method and see myself using it for the foreseeable future. At the moment, i access it on both my ipod touch and my desktop. I was wondering whether, if you have any experience of using it on an ipad, it would be worth purchasing an ipad solely to use Skritter. Opinions welcome. Quote
fabiothebest Posted September 5, 2013 at 08:01 PM Report Posted September 5, 2013 at 08:01 PM I think Skritter is a good resource too. I haven't used it for long time anyway i give you my opinion. As you know Skritter can be used through the browser on a desktop or laptop, or as an ios app for Apple devices (Ipod, Iphone, Ipad). I think one of the best features of Skritter is that one of allowing you to simulate a real handwriting exercise. I think all the methods can be used, anyway i think the worst is by using the browser with a mouse because you aren't actually using your hand for writing (even if it's still useful). You could buy a small touchpad and a pen ro connect to your desktop eventually. Otherwise you can use your Ipod that has touchscreen and it's the same app available for Ipad, the only difference is the screen size. I haven't tried on an Ipod anyway as long as the space isn't too small for your fingers, if you can draw characters i wouldn't buy an Ipad. Eventually you could buy a pen for touchscreen in order to simulate even better the act of writing. An Ipad could be better for the screen size, if you want you can buy it, anyway i would make the purchase only if i meant to use it also for other purposes other than using it for Skritter because it is expensive. Only you know how much you are willing to spend. Quote
lechuan Posted September 6, 2013 at 05:53 AM Report Posted September 6, 2013 at 05:53 AM I use Skritter mostly on my iPad 3. I also occasionally use it on my wife's iPhone 4s. I like the larger screen size on the iPad but it gets a bit heavy in the hand. If I were to get a device now, I would get the upcoming iPad mini with retina display, as it has a large enough screen size and is lighter. Quote
icebear Posted September 7, 2013 at 09:50 AM Report Posted September 7, 2013 at 09:50 AM I wouldn't purchase a 2nd iDevice strictly for Skritter use. I have both an iPhone and iPad and prefer Skritter in iPhone, as I use it sporadically throughout the day when I can grab a minute. But the iPad can be a very potent learning tool with the right apps. Quote
Altair Posted September 7, 2013 at 12:23 PM Report Posted September 7, 2013 at 12:23 PM I like Skritter, but I use my iPad more for Pleco. Quote
