marcopolo79 Posted March 18, 2005 at 09:40 AM Report Posted March 18, 2005 at 09:40 AM 罷了=而已 About 公司, are you sure they aren't saying something along the lines of 共吃 with a strong accent? Are you talking about people who speak Mandarin or some other dialect like Min or Hakka, which predominate in the region? Perhaps in those dialects 公司 does mean together, but it seems highly unlikely to mean that in Mandarin. Quote

Are you talking about people who speak Mandarin or some other dialect like Min or Hakka, which predominate in the region? Perhaps in those dialects 公司 does mean together, but it seems highly unlikely to mean that in Mandarin. They are included in a mandarin conversation and pronouced as in mandarin, I guess they came from Min, if they are linked to the dialect, could they be called "slang" or broken chinese? Quote
