lonny tao Posted October 11, 2013 at 05:37 PM Report Share Posted October 11, 2013 at 05:37 PM On this painting are a lot of Chinese characters. The name of the painting they said to me is: a asian way of living. What does the tekst on the painting say? is it really going about the asian way of living? Don`t need a full translation, where its going about is enough to know. The painting was to large for a photo so I made three photos with some photshop to make one photo of them. I Hope it is to read, better photo is not possible with my camera. Lonny
lingo-ling Posted October 11, 2013 at 06:41 PM Report Share Posted October 11, 2013 at 06:41 PM There are some somewhat random words there (power, think, water, dream, day, fortune, star, fun, day, tranquility, riches, love, earth, longevity, virtue, ... you get the idea). There's also a column of two-character compound words, reading "friendship, freedom, peace, trust, loyalty, spirit, angel, satisfaction, hope, vitality, success, harmony, god". The columns of words are repeated.
lonny tao Posted October 11, 2013 at 07:58 PM Author Report Share Posted October 11, 2013 at 07:58 PM I see also a few times the character that means luck but that character is upside down. Why is that?
lingo-ling Posted October 12, 2013 at 03:20 AM Report Share Posted October 12, 2013 at 03:20 AM There's a Chinese New Year's tradition to turn that particular character upside down, because "upside down" sounds like "arrive": "fortune has arrived".
