Graded Chinese Reader, by Sinolingua

Sorry to dredge an old thread, but I wondered whether anyone had come up with a more elegant solution to the pinyin grid? I read the 500 book and want to read the 1000, as I like the stories, but I don't want to see the pinyin and find the grid provided with the book unwieldy but also a huge trigger for headaches. At this point I'm thinking of making my own, unless anyone could point me in the direction of a light coloured and easier to use grid (and save me having to get creative with some card and a stanley knife!!).

I can only suggest simply covering the line you are reading with a long piece of paper, ignoring the lines below until you get to them, at which point you would use said piece of paper to cover the line once you get to them. Unfortunately, that's all I can think of. I didn't even finish the book, that grind is so uncomfortable...

Agree with all the comments above. The  inclusion of the pinyin was a very poor decision  and makes the book unreadable. Maybe you could draw through the pinyin with one of those whiteout tape. Pretty cheap on Amazon but would be a  tedious task

The series can now be purchased from inside Pleco > Add-ons. I believe this is the most elegant solution ever. =)

@mlescano Thanks for pointing this out. I noticed there are free previews for people as well which is useful, the way it works is a good solution.
