Sinofaze Posted October 20, 2013 at 05:01 AM Report Posted October 20, 2013 at 05:01 AM Can anyone tell how to cook a congee called Eight Treasure Porridge (八宝粥)? Its a type of Chinese congee that is served in local soup kitchens and canteens- normally at the time of breakfast. I find it very delicious. There are many types of congee and porridge but this one is red in colour and tastes a little sweet. If you have the recipie, I would be very grateful if you could share. Quote

WestTexas Posted October 21, 2013 at 04:51 AM Report Posted October 21, 2013 at 04:51 AM You can buy mix to make it. I believe you would just get the mix and put it in a rice cooker with the correct settings. Are you in China? If you are in China, you can just go to the part of a big grocery store were they have all the different types of rice in big bins. Some of those are for making different types of 粥, and 八宝周 is pretty popular. Quote
