2nd part of level 3 writing in computer exam: how does it work?

I already passed level 4 of the new HSK, so I will not be able to answer my question myself. Nevertheless I like to know, because I try to maintain an extensive and up-to-date web page about the HSK exam, in order to help others.

 

My question is: how can you do the second part of level 3 on a computer without making it extremely easy? In the "normal" (non-computer) exam you get the pinyin, and have to produce the character yourself. But if, in the computer exam, you also get the pinyin, then you just have to type it in, and choose the correct character from a list. That seems to be a lot easier.

 

So, do they have another approach in the computer exam, or ???
