I've done lots of looking at images, etc but not having much luck identifying them - watercolour, ink/paper, etc - I've saved the pics and also the writing, etc as shown on each picture. Lu Posted October 28, 2013 at 11:56 AM Report Share Posted October 28, 2013 at 11:56 AM The first one is signed 白云山人, 'man of White Cloud Mountain' or 'man of the mountain with the white clouds', a pseudonym of the painter. The little red chop in the lower right corner also says 'Man of White Cloud Mountain'. The rest of the characters appear to be a poem, something about white clouds enveloping a mountain. The second one is dated 甲戌秋月, 'autumn of the year jiaxu' (as far as I can tell). This is a number in the 60-year cycle that is used in China, recent jiaxu-years were 1994, 1934, 1874, well you can just count back from there if you have reason to believe the painting is even older.
