nipponman Posted March 21, 2005 at 04:22 PM Report Posted March 21, 2005 at 04:22 PM Hi, I think this is really challenging for students like myself. But going beyond the basic 進來 , 出去 etc. and focusing more on stuff like 不能再忍受下去 . Here are the ones I think are troublesome: 下 上 去 下去 上去 過來 過去 Any examples, rules for usage, etc? Quote

xiaoxiajenny Posted March 22, 2005 at 07:25 AM Report Posted March 22, 2005 at 07:25 AM 不能再忍受下去--cannot bear it anymore. 下去--do down/continue/descend 下 down 上 up 去 to go 下去 to go down/to continue 上去 to get on/to go up 过來 come over 过去 link Quote
flyinghome Posted March 22, 2005 at 12:51 PM Report Posted March 22, 2005 at 12:51 PM sometimes the word afer a verb is not important. they may be just meaningless or mean a little in your case, the words after the verbs usually mean the direction 过去just means go 过来means come 上去means go upward and it indicates you are downside 上来 means come upward and it indicats you are upside Quote
