2 instances of qq open at the same time?

Way back before there was international qq I could install the qq program twice on my computer and open 2 accounts simultaneously.  I tried to do this last night with qq international and it would not install - just told me that it was already on my computer, did I want to upgrade, etc. 

 

Is there some way around this?  I like the convenience of working with the english qq.

The Mac version of QQ allows multiple instances of the program to run at the same time. The Windows version should also have this feature.

I think this has come up before and the solution was to run one on desktop and another on the web.

Yes, I remember that in the old qq...I was hoping that there was a different solution with the new qq...but guess I am stuck.

At least for the regular (Chinese) version of QQ, I was under the impression that simply opening the shortcut multiple times would open multiple instances of the program, each able to log in to a separate account.

 

Is this not also the case with QQ International?

I played around with it and the international QQ also does.  What threw me off is that when you open the second instance of qq, there is no pull down menu with all of the accounts registered on that computer.  The user has to type each account and password, and can then access it.

Open the browser in privacy mode (or "incognito" mode in Chrome), and each of those browser can log into a different web qq account (web.qq.com).
