Guest LiXIQing Posted November 8, 2013 at 10:19 AM Report Share Posted November 8, 2013 at 10:19 AM I feel really confused being unable to explain the background of the dialogue clearly. Imagine it's a racing driver talking with his race engineer over the radio. Though it isn't common motorsport. Words in brackets are not to be spoken but important for proper translation. driver: Gyroscope out of order. [i'm] losing balance. engineer: understood [you]. Orient [yourself] by readings of gravity receptors. driver: demand for permission to track it visually. #He drives it blindly, instrumetally and wants to watch the course by his own eyes. engineer: [Answer is in the] negative. I've tried to translate it myself but got stuck, this is too much of challenge for me. driver: 陀螺罗经失灵了。 失衡。 (or 失去平衡。or it claims 在...呢 doesn't it?) engineer: 懂你。 And that's all I could make for now. Help me please to get it right.
muyongshi Posted November 14, 2013 at 08:48 AM Report Share Posted November 14, 2013 at 08:48 AM A bit above my paygrade here but when the engineer says "I understand" consider 明白 and when he says "negative", consider 不行. If it is not a permissive "negative" and rather there is no ability or way of doing it you could use 没法.
Allen Zhang Posted November 27, 2013 at 03:15 PM Report Share Posted November 27, 2013 at 03:15 PM driver: Gyroscope out of order. [i'm] losing balance. engineer: understood [you]. Let me try: 赛车手:陀螺仪失灵,我失去了平衡。 工程师:收到(or明白),请根据重力感应器读数调整方向。 赛车手:请求手动驾驶。 工程师:不行。
