techie Posted November 23, 2003 at 07:38 PM Report Posted November 23, 2003 at 07:38 PM I remember when I was learning Japanese, I used the read everyday their journal called "Nihongo Journal". This monthly magazine, although expensive, also provided monthly audio casettes which pronounced the entire magazine levels: beginning, intermediate, advance. Is there a counterpart educational magazine in Chinese which offers similar strategies for learning the Chinese language? If not are there any magazines which can also be bought with the audio casettes for the pronunciation? I think this could be a tremendous educational tool for learning to pronounce the chinese correctly as one reads contemporary articles etc about China. Comments? Feedback? Thanks. Quote
techie Posted November 23, 2003 at 07:43 PM Author Report Posted November 23, 2003 at 07:43 PM I found the following right after having posted my previous question. http://www.learningmedia.co.nz/seriesdetail.php?srs=90 It seems that these electronic storybooks are already in existance, but for the young children. Are there any others recommended for adults? Thanks. Quote
fenlan Posted August 15, 2005 at 08:35 PM Report Posted August 15, 2005 at 08:35 PM You know, China is a land of opportunity. I wonder if someone had the idea that you had if it could take off. A few years ago I visited a Beijing computer company with the idea of producing HSK vocabulary software, but the company was not sure there woudl be enough demand. Now that the number of foreign students is rising by 40% a year, that was an incorrect assessment. I think a weekly newspaper (along the lines of the English-language Guardian weekly or Telegraph weekly - ie a good round up of the week's news and other things) coupled with audio CD ROM (with a programme on it to teach and test some of that week's vocabulary) would be interesting, and could be aimed at the expat market. The name of the newspaper? Liu2xue2sheng1 Zhou1bao4? What is "expat" in Chinese? Quote
