PaulaPanama Posted January 6, 2014 at 10:56 AM Author Report Posted January 6, 2014 at 10:56 AM Hi all The first translation of the book, it turned out, was over done, with complex words, idioms, and phrasal adjectives, way too advanced for children. I've had a second translation done, and this time had good feedback from Mandarin school teachers about its readability. I'm happy to send a .pdf copy to any contributors to this thread. To anyone who has read but not contributed, send me a PM with your email address, and I'll add you to a mailing list that informs you of the free download days; Kindle allows me to make the book available for free download for up to 5 days in each 90 days, and I plan to do this when I have a reasonable length list of people interested. Look forward to hearing from you Kind regards Paula Quote
PaulaPanama Posted January 6, 2014 at 12:38 PM Author Report Posted January 6, 2014 at 12:38 PM Hi all I have written a children's story, 'Princess Kitty and the Crystal Palace' (3000 words), and had it translated into Mandarin, and have published in parallel text. The translation is fairly simple, and suitable for US and British born Chinese and other non-native speakers studying and learning Mandarin. You can see the previews from my author page; http://tinyurl.com/oabku4h If you would like to be informed when the free download days will be, please sign up for my mailing list; http://eepurl.com/LPHKX I will send you an email a couple of days before each free download day starts. I hope to have more children's stories translated, so please sign up and stay subscribed to receive information about future books as well. Many thanks and kind regards Paula Quote
