Best public domain font for writing Pinyin

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have a favourite font for writing Pinyin?  Ideally, the letters with tone marks should not appear as a different size to the other letters.

I would be interested to hear which font you prefer to use for Pinyin?

A lot of this depends on context, the same as with the font face used for writing anything.

Take a look at these:

There are also some fonts commonly found that should *not* be used for Pinyin, even though they may appear to have all of the letters and diacritcs:

I see pinyin.info has had a facelift.  Unfortunately they seem to be doing something funky with their encodings because there are loads of ??'s all throughout the new posts.
