Jeremy Andrews Posted December 23, 2013 at 04:36 AM Author Report Posted December 23, 2013 at 04:36 AM All right, I decided to try nü first, since I know a few words in Chinese that use that sound. After that, I'll try some of the more complicated ones.nu1.wmaDoes this sound okay?EDIT: I'm sorry, I seem to have double-posted. I normally delete my second post when that happens, but I don't know how to do that on this site. Quote
陳德聰 Posted December 23, 2013 at 11:01 AM Report Posted December 23, 2013 at 11:01 AM It certainly sounds different enough from 'nu' that your 'nü' seems acceptable to me. It might be a good idea to do your recordings with all four tones on each syllable that you're practising, as sometimes focusing on tones can muck up the rest of the pronunciation and thus needs more practice. Jeremy Andrews Posted December 24, 2013 at 01:55 AM Author Report Posted December 24, 2013 at 01:55 AM As a matter of fact, my Chinese book's first tone practice uses this syllable to teach me the tones. It says not to proceed until I can produce this sound correctly in all four tones. That's why I've been trying so hard to learn this. So, here's my first attempt to do so: Umtone1.wma Quote
