Tsunku Posted November 24, 2003 at 10:48 PM Report Posted November 24, 2003 at 10:48 PM You'll see ads occasionally with families offering homes for foreign students. Usually they want someone who can help their kid with his English. Most of the ads I saw were looking for female students, as young guys are seen to be more troublesome. You can also try and live in an off-campus apartment with Chinese roomates. I lot of people I knew did this. Many universities don't require students to live on-campus, they just offer the dorms as a cheap option. Or if it is required, plenty of students ignore it. I knew a lot of Chinese students who lived off campus without being bothered by the school for it (until SARS hit, when they cracked down on the students' whereabouts). Quote
