syu.edu Posted March 31, 2005 at 08:51 AM Report Posted March 31, 2005 at 08:51 AM hello, i have been accepted to study at sun yat-sen university this september. while i know about all costs like "housing", "food" and of course the "mandarin training course" i still don't know how much money i need for general living in guangzhou. my friend in shenzhen told me i should get at least 200 EUR a month - i think i will never need so much money (besides, i would not be able to get so much... ) currently i am able to get around 90 EUR (965,07 RMB) for general living. is it enough? TSkillet Posted March 31, 2005 at 03:20 PM Report Posted March 31, 2005 at 03:20 PM that seems like an awfully small amount to me. when i was living in guangzhou, i had about 2,500 per month RMB for expenses - outside of food and housing. granted i saved a large part of that - but 90 Euros a month would be awfully limiting - meaning no trips to Hong Kong, very few nights out, no ability to purchase souvenirs or travel. ..
