Melville Posted January 15, 2014 at 11:41 AM Report Share Posted January 15, 2014 at 11:41 AM Hi I am working on a flyer for my Wing Chun teacher. As a hidden element, which only can be understood by insiders, I want to use the second part of the phrase "Oppose the Qing, restore the Ming". So, the signs I want to use, should mean "restore the Ming". I did a research and I think I found them and I do attach them here. I would like to check them here with you, so I can be sure they don't mean "the supermarket is over there". It would be very kind of you to help me out. Thanks for any comment Mel (if you want I can post the Wing Chun flyer too)
skylee Posted January 15, 2014 at 12:39 PM Report Share Posted January 15, 2014 at 12:39 PM The character you found means Ming and does not include the meaning of to restore. For "restore the Ming", you need 復明. Because you have dropped the oppose the Qing part, the context is not absolutely clear. In some contexts, 復明 can mean restore the eyesight.
