confucius Posted April 7, 2005 at 12:58 AM Report Share Posted April 7, 2005 at 12:58 AM I give credit to Teresa Teng for much of my early inspiration. She has the rare voice that you never get tired of listening to, so I played her tapes all the time in my car and my walkman while in college. It was one of the happiest days of my life to share the stage with her at a Double Ten party in Hong Kong and sing 2 duets in 1994. She told me that she had never sung in Chinese with a foreigner before, so it is a distinguished honor that will go with me to my grave. wushijiao Posted April 7, 2005 at 08:50 AM Report Share Posted April 7, 2005 at 08:50 AM I used to watch Wang Fei VCD's on my computer when I was first starting out. I'd hear the words and see the characters go by. Certainly, this was a lot less painful than some traditional character-studying methods. liuzhou Posted April 7, 2005 at 11:21 PM Report Share Posted April 7, 2005 at 11:21 PM Does anyone have Wings of Light lyrics in Simplified chinese?
Gary Soup Posted April 8, 2005 at 04:36 AM Report Share Posted April 8, 2005 at 04:36 AM I can't say I'm enamored of Faye Wong as a singer. She may be able to carry a tune, but her voice is far too small, which seems endemic of female Cantopop singers.
Quest Posted April 8, 2005 at 12:46 PM Report Share Posted April 8, 2005 at 12:46 PM She may be able to carry a tune, but her voice is far too small, which seems endemic of female Cantopop singers. Unlike the others, Faye's voice can be really high and strong if she wanted to (when she sang other people's songs), but it's her style to sing with low volume.
