Hello

Just wondering if anyone could give some insight into a customers tattoo request we did recently.

I'm not sure if its meant to read as six single words or a continuous sentance of text.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer

The first four characters are 欲义命永勇 (desire, justice, fate, forever, brave) (note that the second one in your illustration is the traditional version, but the first one is a simplified character, it's not good to mix the two). For the last character, the best I can come up with is 萝 (turnip) with an extra component added by mistake, unless it's some rare character I haven't seen before, which is entirely possible. None of them form words or phrases and the order or arrangement probably doesn't matter at all.

The last character is 夢, meaning dream.

PS - Which one is a simplified character?  欲?  It is also in the traditional script, in which 欲 and 慾 have different meanings.

PPS - I agree that together they don't make much sense.

Hello

Thanks for the replies, very interesting. We get stuff like this all the time, thought it would be interesting to see for a change if the customer was right / aware what it actually said

Hopefully for her sake it is read as 'dream' and not 'turnip' by most people
