katafei Posted January 29, 2014 at 08:41 AM Report Share Posted January 29, 2014 at 08:41 AM hello all I was hoping someone could tell me what this sign means. It's from Hong Kong, somewhere along the 'longest escalator' of the world (wish I had known about that the one dayI was in Hong Kong, I would have loved to travel up and down it ) the sign may include a clue to a tv game I'm watching on Dutch tv: thanks
skylee Posted January 29, 2014 at 10:23 AM Report Share Posted January 29, 2014 at 10:23 AM The Chinese characters in the picture are "頂餐". If it is close to the escalator, then I guess it is this place -> http://www.openrice.com/english/restaurant/photos.htm?shopid=10041 PS - if you find this post helpful, you can vote it up by clicking the green arrow at the lower right corner. Nathan Mao Posted January 29, 2014 at 11:49 AM Report Share Posted January 29, 2014 at 11:49 AM What it actually means is something like "the best meals". 頂 means "top", or "best" 餐 means "meal" or "dishes"
skylee Posted January 29, 2014 at 12:27 PM Report Share Posted January 29, 2014 at 12:27 PM What it is is part of the name of the cafe bar "山頂餐廳酒吧" -> http://static1.orstatic.com/UserPhoto/photo/4/3B6/00NJGF3F4D0662EF74BBE3n.jpg
Lu Posted January 29, 2014 at 02:40 PM Report Share Posted January 29, 2014 at 02:40 PM Looks like Skylee's right. 'Top of the hill/mountain restaurant and cafe' in full (or, well, Peak Cafe), with the two characters in that image meaning 'top food'. So, does that throw any light on who the mole is? :-)
