New Members Daniel L Posted January 31, 2014 at 05:06 PM New Members Report Share Posted January 31, 2014 at 05:06 PM Hi, could someone please translate this cards? I have found the real cards in english, but since those are fakes I am intrested to know if there is any difference because the card with the drawing of a sword for example should be named "salamandra" but in this fake version I have found it's written "fire sword". Also i have tried to translate them using google but you could imagine how that turned out Thanks
johnk Posted February 1, 2014 at 10:45 AM Report Share Posted February 1, 2014 at 10:45 AM Hi, The text in the picture is in traditional characters, I have reproduced it here in simplified. (I am too lazy to change my IME.) You can cut and paste it into an online translator eg www.mdbg.net 幻想师的脸 月之书 火焰之剑 Note that things are often not translated as you might think. For example, I recall some myth about salamander (salamandra ?) being able to live in fire. So a sword called salamander might be legitimately translated as 'fire sword', depending on the context.
Goshujinchama Posted February 1, 2014 at 11:50 AM Report Share Posted February 1, 2014 at 11:50 AM looks like my Chinese is not good enough, coff coff, anyway... aside from the name change fire sword/salamandra seems to have the same effect (boost fire element beast attack +700) as for the book of the moon... it should be the same card. the last one (the upper one) was a little tricky to find. I then resorted to my last hope and used google search by image. The original card name is Toon defense but this one has been called Illusionist's face (but no results on google looking for 幻想师的脸), even the color of the card seems wrong. Talking about the effect I'm not sure what it does but part of it is: sacrifice two of your monster in play then you can nullify something something...
New Members Daniel L Posted February 2, 2014 at 08:56 PM Author New Members Report Share Posted February 2, 2014 at 08:56 PM Thanks for the help. I am also pretty sure the book of moon card has the same name and effect, and so does the salamandra apart from the name change(and I checked in the original japanese is salamandra) about the toon defense though, I believe they changed the name to the illusionist faceless mage or something similar. and about it's effect i'm not certain at all, maybe it's mentioning the fact that the faceless mage card has five levels so you need to sacrafice a monster in order to summon it?
