kikosun Posted February 5, 2014 at 05:58 PM Report Share Posted February 5, 2014 at 05:58 PM Hi all. This is probably a silly question, but I'm having some problems pasting Chinese text into Microsoft word. I have been trying to collect some short pieces of text from various websites and putting them together in a word document so that I have them all in one place. However, I randomly get characters that look like empty squares. How do I make it so the characters all appear normally? I'm guessing I don't have the right fonts or settings or something for Chinese characters? Thank you!
Hofmann Posted February 6, 2014 at 12:47 AM Report Share Posted February 6, 2014 at 12:47 AM Use a font with all the characters you want to use. Droid Sans Fallback will probably suffice, although if you're using Word, you should also have Microsoft YaHei and Microsoft JhengHei installed too, no? Shelley Posted February 6, 2014 at 10:52 AM Report Share Posted February 6, 2014 at 10:52 AM Also do you not have to enable Asian fonts in the languages settings? In control panel choose Languages and regional settings and then choose the second tab marked languages, at the bottom is a check box install Asian languages click this. It may ask for the install disc. I apologize if you have already taken this basic step. Hope this helps.
