anonymoose Posted February 15, 2014 at 12:39 PM Report Share Posted February 15, 2014 at 12:39 PM Yes they are Chinese, but apart from the one in 057.jpg which may be a genuine coin of currency (of course it could also be a fake), they look more like commemorative medals. For example the two coins in 072.jpg say "The 10 Main Emperors of Ancient China" on them - not the kind of thing you'd expect to find on real currency. So as for value, well let's just say, don't bother thinking about early retirement.

skylee Posted February 16, 2014 at 01:13 PM Report Share Posted February 16, 2014 at 01:13 PM Re #5, if it is real it might be worth some money. I know nothing about silver or coins, but if you google the words, pictures of similar coins come up -> http://www.google.com/search?biw=360&bih=615&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=%E8%B6%B3%E7%B4%8B%E9%8A%80%E9%A4%85+%E5%BA%AB%E5%B9%B3%E6%9F%92%E5%BC%8D&oq=%E8%B6%B3%E7%B4%8B%E9%8A%80%E9%A4%85+%E5%BA%AB%E5%B9%B3%E6%9F%92%E5%BC%8D&gs_l=img.12...28910.77211.0.82312.9.7.2.0.0.0.58.294.7.7.0....0...1c.1.35.img..9.0.0.uraaYuHNhpY On one side, the symbols look like Manchurian. Information on the internet says they mean 台灣府鑄 (made in Taiwan). On the other side, the Chinese says 道光年鑄 庫平柒弍 足紋銀餅, which means that it was minted during the Daoguang years in the mid-19th century. According to the information on the internet, there are a lot of fake coins like this.
