jmido8 Posted March 9, 2014 at 02:24 PM Report Posted March 9, 2014 at 02:24 PM I'm signed up for the hsk 5 this weekend. My biggest concern is the writing portion. Every mock test I have done, out of the 5 words they give me, there's always 1-2 I don't know.Should I just skip the words and not use them at all or try to guess, using them randomly and vaguely as a verb or noun or something? If I have an idea of what they might be but I'm not sure, should I just try to use it the way I think it might work? Thanks! JustinJJ Posted March 11, 2014 at 08:29 PM Report Posted March 11, 2014 at 08:29 PM For the writing section the syllabus covers 2500 words. I don't think they would use a word not in the syllabus for this section. No short-cuts, need to learn all those words and use them. If you forget some just have your best guess. If you don't use a word you will lose a mark as they have no material to give you credit, if you have a gut feeling about the meaning of a word there's always a chance you could fluke it. Quote
