imron Posted March 18, 2014 at 05:01 AM Report Share Posted March 18, 2014 at 05:01 AM It says, 'my body is my temple' - however the word for 'temple' that has been used, is the temple pressure-point on your head, not the temple used as a place of worship (which are the same word in English, but completely different things in Chinese). Don't get this tattooed on yourself, and please don't use Google translate to come up with Chinese tattoos!
lingo-ling Posted March 18, 2014 at 05:36 AM Report Share Posted March 18, 2014 at 05:36 AM Go to the source. The body being a temple comes from the Bible. Corinthians 6:19 King James Version: "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost ..." Chinese Union Version: "豈不知你們的身子就是聖靈的殿嗎?" So, "My body is a temple of the Holy Ghost" would be "我的身子就是聖靈的殿". If it's for a tattoo, I recommend using traditional characters, instead of simplified characters, for the sake of aesthetics. (Standard disclaimers apply when it comes to tattooing in a foreign language: Do your research. Consult at least two native speakers. And ultimately, it's your decision, and you assume responsibility.)

Well, if you're thinking about getting a message from the bible tattooed, don't forget good 'ole Leviticus 19:28.
Lu Posted March 18, 2014 at 11:33 AM Report Share Posted March 18, 2014 at 11:33 AM If it's for a tattoo, why not get the original Greek version? It's also exotic letters and you don't need to worry about the quality of the translation.
New Members vinicius22 Posted March 19, 2014 at 12:05 AM Author New Members Report Share Posted March 19, 2014 at 12:05 AM @imron; sorry about using google. I knew that the translation was possibly wrong which is why i posted here before decide to make it. @lingo-ling I am looking for someone that can help me "live" but i had not found, probably because i'm new in this city. Then i decided to try this forum while i keep looking for help in here. Also it not exactly a message from the bible. I have in my body a lot of scars from some accidents. The meaning to me is something like "my body is my temple that gives me strenght to keep evolving no matter what" 我的身子就是聖靈的殿 is My body is a temple of the Holy Ghost how would it be just My body is a temple? Thank you all for helping me
imron Posted March 19, 2014 at 12:28 AM Report Share Posted March 19, 2014 at 12:28 AM sorry about using google. No need to apologise, I was just saying that as a warning because the chance of google translate getting something accurate is very low. It can be useful to get the general gist of something, but presumably you don't want a tattoo that is just a general gist of what you meant.
