杰声 Posted April 18, 2005 at 02:43 PM Report Posted April 18, 2005 at 02:43 PM I'm doing a coursework on chinese student life and I have to cover the 1960's, unfortunately my chinese history is a bit sketchy... I know that 1962-65 was the Socialist Education Movement but would I be right in thinking that that period was where all the students were sent out to live on farms to learn how 'red families' live? 1966-69 was the period with the Red Guards and the smashing of schools/temples and abuse of teachers right? I've tried a few searches on the interenet and I'm pretty sure about 66-69 but the information I've found on 62-65 is exactly abundant >.< Quote

杰声 Posted April 18, 2005 at 04:45 PM Author Report Posted April 18, 2005 at 04:45 PM heh yea thats one of the few sites I've found, unfortunately most sites seem to just gloss over or only mention names when it comes to the education movement >. Quote
madizi Posted April 19, 2005 at 07:37 AM Report Posted April 19, 2005 at 07:37 AM As far as I know, students were send to countryside during Cultural Revolution (1966-76). But I don't think that they were send there before 1966. Quote
杰声 Posted April 19, 2005 at 07:45 AM Author Report Posted April 19, 2005 at 07:45 AM Ah I see, thanks. I wasn't sure as I've found next to no infomation on the Socialist Education Movement and like I said, my chinese history is a bit sketchy ^_^ Quote
