Yes, that's true for standard putonghua, but I wouldn't be surprised if I heard people leaving out the "h" in "sha" as many people from southern China routinely leave out the "h" in words when speaking mandarin.

It's obvious to me you Kulong and anyone else with more than half a brain that women haven't "achieved equality" in China Texas Uk or anywhere else and are unlikely to do so in any society worldwide, not even LuguHu, in the foreseeable future, because all societies are to a greater or lesser degree unfairly man-dominated. This forum isn't the place for a discussion on this, but i expect most of you basically go along with the principle.

So what I found trollish was treating "since women achieved equality" as some sort of fait accompli, slipping it into the sentence as if it were something we all knew to be the case when it's at least debatable and I would say wrong.

Ok, maybe not in this forum... but I can imagine elsewhere the remark leading to a backlash of "What are you talking about, women are not treated equally!" comments when Kulong in fact knew all along that women are not treated equally.

Most of us know 'wo cao!' as an all round general purpose curse word.

But my Wuhan/ Beijing friend always says 'wo ka!'.... I've started saying it automatically..... but I don't know what I'm saying.....

Don't know what "ka" means.

I just know that "cao" (操) means something like "Fuck". Recently I was told that a lot of Chinese say "kao" instead of "cao", as "cao" is a very rude word.

Maybe your friend means "kao" by saying "ka", as it is the pronounciation of his dialect (Wuhan dialect ?)????

That's just a guess. Tell me if you found a better explanation.

I think that 'wo kao' is actually just a varied pronunciation of 'wo cao'. The letter c is supposed to sound like 'ts' but a very common variation is to make it sound more like a c. Pinyin is quite clever in this respect 'zhu' is often pronounced 'dzu' so the z isn't completely arbitary. Same for C.

Someone in my office yesterday said 'wo kao' on the phone and the girls shushed him, which leads me to think that it is actually very rude and not just like saying 'oh sssss-sugar!'

I heard a kid in an internet cafe call his friend 'ma bi' as an affectionate greeting!

'zhu tou' is a fairly inoffensive insult 'pig head' which means stupid and maybe.. insensitive?

肏？ I've seen it written 操. Maybe that's just like 醬子 for 這樣子 or on at least one occasion I've witnessed 搞 for 高潮. I don't know. Just stuff I've seen, only some of which has been explained to me by native speakers (I currently live in a cave).

I sure wish some of you would write this stuff in characters instead of only in romanization. I'm such an innocent boy I'm curious to learn more of the phrases no one uses around me.

Er Bi (the second c*nt) is a dirtier version of Sha Que.

btw, some people from the North have problems with "h" too. (This is probably not PC, but back in the college, a timeless way of making fun of the accent is to say "Sa Bi" (Sha Bi) with an emphasis on "Sa")

I am afraid 意淫 is a phrase in written Chinese, as well as 手淫。 Its not a slang or colloquial usage.

意淫 is a state where pornography/eroticism/sexual advances is hinted but not really revealed/shown. As far as I know it does not mean narcissism and is not a swear word (but then I don't know if there is such a colloquial usage). 手淫 is masturbation.
