New Members Falconman Posted April 11, 2014 at 08:55 AM New Members Report Share Posted April 11, 2014 at 08:55 AM Hi, I have an extremely old looking woodblock print on very thin paper. Can anyone help me to translate the text and the red seal? Any help is appreciated! Thank you very much!
lingo-ling Posted April 11, 2014 at 11:05 AM Report Share Posted April 11, 2014 at 11:05 AM I showed this to three native-speaking colleagues, and they couldn't read it, exclaiming "Oh my god, it's too difficult." They guessed that two of the characters were 因此, meaning "thus" or "therefore". Then again, they're not experts on calligraphy. The first character in the seal is 壽. New Members Falconman Posted April 11, 2014 at 01:02 PM Author New Members Report Share Posted April 11, 2014 at 01:02 PM Thank you very much! Now I have something to go on. I have attached a photo of the print. Maybe it's easier with a picture at hand. To me it looks like the print was created some hundred years ago.
