Hi there!

I am planning to make a painting for an elderly friend of mine, with the theme of Longevity. I will paint Cranes, Turtles and Pine tree with ink on Rice paper, and I am trying to find some old Chinese poem, that relates to Longevity, as the accompanying Calligraphy. I have found this beautiful poem by Su Tung Po from the Song dynasty (1076 I believe) called 'Thinking of you'.

When will the moon be clear and bright?
With a cup of wine in my hand, I ask the blue sky.
I don't know what season it would be in the heavens on this night.
I'd like to ride the wind to fly home.
Yet I fear the crystal and jade mansions are much too high and cold for me.
Dancing with my moon-lit shadow
It does not seem like the human world
The moon rounds the red mansion Stoops to silk-pad doors
Shines upon the sleepless Bearing no grudge
Why does the moon tend to be full when people are apart?
People may have sorrow or joy, be near or far apart
The moon may be dim or bright, wax or wane
This has been going on since the beginning of time
May we all be blessed with longevity Though far apart, we are still able to share the beauty of the moon together.

My question is, the characters that I have posted above are I think Simplified? If so I was wondering how I can find this poem written in Traditional characters, as I plan to copy it with ink and brush for the calligraphy of the painting, which should be in traditional characters and not simplified.

As always, many thanks in advance if someone can help me!

Kind regards to all

Yes, they are in simplified Chinese, here you have the traditional version (link). Your idea seems great, perhaps you could post a photo of it when it's finished! :D

Thank you so much Geiko! That really is such a great help. And also thanks for your words of encouragement, I will surely post a photo when it is finished, even just to check that my Calligraphy is legible!! :)
